The language of light - desert poem II

Spirit of the desert came to me barefoot,

wild and free.

Silence is our home

open space

where we belong,

he said.

Whenever there is a chance to love

go there

open the garden of your heart.

So I went

and tasted

dusty starry love

another face of God’s grace.

Fill your eyes with my landscape,

she said,

raw body of mother earth, the ancient one.

Let the cool breeze caress your face,

her melody is a lullaby for the soul, calling in humbleness.

Let your heart be vast and empty.

Qualities of creation

before the mind, way beyond.

Freedom and beauty

don’t belong to human, don’t have a name.

Negev has it’s own language

of space and of light.

A thousand angels

kiss you with the gentle air

of a new day’s dawn.

Let there be light

in your eyes, in your mind and in your heart.

Let there be light

within you

surrounding you.

As is within

so is without

so let the light in

to illuminate all life.

Let the light lead the way.

Trust only in the paths that have a heart.

Your faith

is the light of your life.
